"Class in Modern Britain" Hosted by Jon Snow.

One of the iconic images of 1960s British comedy, a single sketch from the 1967 series of the Frost Report neatly satirised and explained the unique nature of the British class system. It involved 6ft 5inch John Cleese standing next to 5ft 8inch Ronnie Barker who in turn stood next to 5ft 1inch Ronnie Corbett, using each man's height to illustrate their standing in society. Middle-Class Barker explains: 'I look up to him (Cleese) because he is upper class but I look down on him (Corbett) because he is lower class.' Corbett: 'I know my place.' The sketch lasted no more than a few minutes but is indelibly etched on the British psyche.

But what is the reality of this complex network of relationships in Britain today? As two political parties, deeply rooted in class traditions, try to persuade the British public that it is they alone who are best placed to deliver a peaceful, prospeous and fair country for all, Channel 4's Jon Snow hosts a public conversation that promises to pick away at the sometimes uncomfortable prejudices we share. But this is not an event for mere talking heads -- the audience is involved in the conversation, open to all for questions and comments,
